Q
When is the best time to start growth (early) orthodontics?
A
The timing of growth orthodontics is not decided by age alone; we check jawbone growth, the eruption of permanent teeth, and the type of malocclusion. An orthodontic check-up around age 7 is recommended, but a check-up does not mean treatment starts immediately. If the front teeth bite in reverse or the jaw shifts to one side when biting, we evaluate even earlier and, as needed, either monitor growth or begin treatment.
